Volunteering can be a very meaningful experience for persons of all ages. Meaningful activity through volunteerism greatly contributes to a more positive attitude. The need for volunteers of all ages continues in our community. As a local nonprofit organization whose programs depend upon voluntary help, the Nutley Family Service Bureau seeks out volunteers of all ages to give back to our community.
Would you like to volunteer with a community organization which has served the families and citizens of Nutley for over 97 years and whose motto is "Families Helping Families"?
We need volunteers for several projects/programs for 2010.
- Thrift Shop Volunteers - help us staff our Thrift Shop. Duties include displaying and arranging/sorting clothing and merchandise, as well as pricing, and sales. Hours are flexible. We are open Monday-Thursday 10-4, Friday noon-4 and the first & third Saturdays 11-3. We are starting a youth volunteer corps (12 & up) to assist in the Thrift Shop as well.
- Part time receptionist and clerical work - evenings from 5:00PM- 9:00PM Monday- Thursday. Duties include handling receptionist duties, handling phone calls and word processing (Microsoft Word and Excel), filing, and copying. We are looking for a one night per week commitment.
- Seasonal part time volunteers needed for special projects i.e. preparing holiday gift baskets, food, toys. Duties include accepting donations, arranging items, contacting clients, dispersing baskets and outside “clean up” work at two locations. Special event volunteers needed for committee work, fund raising events and projects.
